Breast Cancer Prevention Institute
Since 1999, the Breast Cancer Prevention Institute, a charitable 501(c)3 corporation, has been educating lay, medical and governmental groups on breast cancer risks with the goal of reducing the incidence of breast cancer. Years before the 2002 Women's Health Initiative study was publicized causing 15 million women to stop their HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) resulting in an 11% decrease in breast cancer incidence, BCPI was giving that information to its supporters.
Its board is composed of several physicians(a breast cancer surgeon, 2 Ob-Gyns and a professor of family practice), a professor and specialist in estrogen endocrinology, a mammography technologist and lactation consultant. With this broad base of expertise, BCPI has become an internationally recognized source of scientifically accurate information on the modifiable risks for breast cancer.
The net proceeds from the sale of these t-shirts go to support the Breast Cancer Prevention Institute.
